This yummy almond butter recipe just might be the gateway to introducing your favorite, daily, healthy snack!  You can spread it on toast, pair it with fruits, vegetables and more.  The possibilities are unlimited and the kids will love it too!  We wanted to make a hummus recipe using almond butter and are so glad we did.

You really can’t miss with our smooth almond hummus!  Our Almond Butter recipe for Hummus is just the right blend of texture and taste that will keep you making more.  This is definitely a “supply and demand” type of hummus recipe, because anyone who likes a nutty buttery flavor, will certainly find ways to enjoy this healthy hummus recipe. Careful now, we just have one warning for making our almond hummus. . .start by making a double batch!  This particular recipe using almond butter has never been so rich, tasty and pleasing.  We guarantee you will run out fast!

This almond hummus tastes great on toast for breakfast and will “out shine” store purchased spreads.  Or, what a great snack for the kids when they come home after school.  Kids love to dip and scoop, so try setting it on the counter with apple slices or celery and, see what happens!  This is also a great dessert hummus that is peanut free.   • 3 cups water 
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3/8 cup almond butter
  • 3 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 Palouse Brand Bare Hummus Kit
                     From the Hummus Kit You Will Need:
          • 3/4 cup dried garbanzo beans
          • 1 3/4 tbsp. sesame seeds
          • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoning

                          1. Soak garbanzo beans for six to eight hours.
                          2. Rinse and place beans in pot, cover with 3 cups of water and bring to boil for one hour.
                          3. Drain and set aside cooking water, rinse under cold water for 2 minutes.
                          4. Place the beans in a colander (saving the cooking water of course) and begin to rinse the beans under cool water. While gently turning the beans with a wooden spoon. Most of the skins should fall off.
                          5. Place garbanzo beans on a sheet pan and pick out the skins and dispose of them.
                          6. Place sesame seed and olive oil in your food processor and combine.
                          7. Add deskinned garbanzo beans and blend in your food processor. Gradually add the reserved garbanzo bean water until the hummus is as creamy as you would like it.
                          8. Add seasonings, almond butter, lemon juice, garlic and kosher salt.
                          9. Process until well blended, make sure to scrape sides.
                          10. Serve and enjoy!
