Move over hummus, we love this green split pea dip. This delicious dip comes together in thirty minutes! No need to remember to soak beans. It's wonderful to find a quick and easy recipe, that uses pantry staples and comes together quickly. We love to serve this dip with raw veggies and whole wheat tortilla chips.
While we often eat this recipe as a dip, you can also use it as a spread on wraps and sandwiches. If you like the ranch version of this recipe, you can try other flavors as well, like Italian, taco, or curry.
Green Split Pea Ranch Dip
This is a great dip for veggies or chips and comes together in under thirty minutes.
1 cup dried split peas
3 cups water
Reserve 1 cup of cooking water
1 tbs minced garlic
3 tbs lemon juice
1 ranch packet
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of green split peas. Cook until tender, in 25 minutes.
Drain, your split peas reserving 1 cup of cooking liquid.
In blender combine split peas, ranch packet, lemon juice and garlic.
Blend until smooth, add cooking water until dip is at desired consistency.
