Featured Recipe: Green Split Pea Soup

Our green split pea soup recipe was given to us by a dear friend when we launched Palouse Brand many years ago. This green split pea soup is our favorite for its simplicity and delicious flavor.

How to Cook Green Split Peas

Split pea cooking time is 25-35 minutes on the stove at medium-high heat, without soaking. Split peas do absorb a lot of liquid when cooking, for best results use 2 cups of liquid for every cup of split peas.

Grown with you in mind

Palouse Brand is a 5th generation, family-owned and vertically integrated farm that grows, cleans, processes, packages and ships premium legumes and grains directly to consumers. We grow our own products in Eastern Washington and provide information like field location, crop photos and harvest dates. We work hard to include our customers in every aspect of our farm to table process.

Beyond our passion for farming, we value helping people live healthier. We strive to support our customers’ pursuit of health by providing premium nutrient-rich products, transparency, recipes, guides, and five star customer service.

Starts in the field

Chuck has worked at the farm as our resident mechanic since 1981. Born and raised in Pullman, he and his wife have also raised their two sons here and are now getting to enjoy time with their grandchildren. Over the many years, they have loved the family centered environment of the farm, becoming family themselves.

His deep love of farming brought him to work on our farm all those years ago and he has always looked forward to the harvest season, where he can see the year’s hard work come to fruition. He enjoys the variety of projects he does throughout the ear and knowing he is an integral part of keeping the farm running smoothly.

Ruby has been working on the Palouse Brand team since the Spring of 2020. She brings an electric energy to every work day and loves to keep things exciting with all her favorite songs to sing and dance along with. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys getting to spend time with her family especially in the Summer when she can spend time in the pool with her nieces and nephews.

Ruby loves the opportunity to learn and test new ways to help our warehouses run more efficiently. Her favorite aspect of her job is getting to teach new employees how to operate all our equipment, like our forklift and sewing machines.
