These Red Spring Wheat Berries are packaged for emergency and long-term food storage in our 25 pound bucket. Each bucket lid has a special rubber gasket that creates an air-tight seal to keep the wheat fresh even after opening - the lid will re-seal each time you close the bucket. Our family takes pride in farming for over 125 years bringing the cleanest, high quality wheat berries you can find. We package only the current year's harvest, proving to be the freshest you can find, no old wheat berries here.

Our Red Spring Wheat Berries are so versatile, they can be used in salads or milled down to a beautiful whole wheat flour that can be used to bake delicious sourdoughs. These wheat berries are a gorgeous deep golden, red color and have a bold, nutty flavor. Palouse Brand prides ourselves in offering food safe certifications on all our wheat berries and we are audited by multiple agencies annually that ensure you will see the most beautiful, cleanest, high quality, fresh grains available on the market.

Bucket color may vary between green and white.

*Due to the size and dimensions, buckets shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories will be charged a flat rate shipping fee per bucket at checkout. This only includes our buckets, all other products ship for free.

Featured Recipe: How to Grow Wheat Berries

Growing wheatgrass at home is easy and inexpensive, and full of health benefits. Follow our instructions on how to grow your own wheatgrass at home.

How to Cook Wheat Berries

Bring at least 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add 1 cup rinsed wheat berries, and reduce the heat. Simmer until tender, checking periodically for 25 mins. See more ways to cook, and how to grind wheat berries.

How to Store Wheat Berries

The best by date is 3 years from the time of packaging; however if stored in an air-tight container, in a dry, cool, and dark location they can last much longer. Freezing your wheat for long-term storage can affect the moisture content of the wheat berry and affect the baking properties of the wheat.

Thrilled to announce our 2023 Hard Red Spring Wheat harvest! This season witnessed a moderate amount of rainfall. Grown with you in mind

Palouse Brand is a 5th generation, family-owned and vertically integrated farm that grows, cleans, processes, packages and ships premium legumes and grains directly to consumers. We grow our own products in Eastern Washington and provide information like field location, crop photos and harvest dates. We work hard to include our customers in every aspect of our farm to table process.

Beyond our passion for farming, we value helping people live healthier. We strive to support our customers’ pursuit of health by providing premium nutrient-rich products, transparency, recipes, guides, and five star customer service.

Starts in the field

Kevin has been working on the farm since his early childhood. Some of his earliest memories are riding in the combines with his Dad, Steve and helping his Mom and Grandma in the kitchen preparing meals for the harvest crew. He graduated from Washington State University in 2000 with a degree in Ag Technology and Management. Kevin married his wife, Sara, in 2008 and is raising their family on the farm just as he was.

As a family in 2009 the Maders launched Palouse Brand, our direct-to-consumer small bag line. He loves that farming allows him to be outside, tending to the fields. He finds immense satisfaction in stewarding the land, bringing crops to fruition and growing foods that consumers can connect with.
