Additional Sizes 5 LB Burlap Bag

Palouse Brand small brown lentils are the Pardina variety of lentils which are increasingly difficult to find in grocery stores in North America. Our 5 pound lentils are packaged in a burlap bag.

Our burlap bags are plant-based, with the vegetable fibers being spun into strong threads to make the fabric. This kind of packaging is important for our products keeping the inside of the bag dark, preserving the color of our lentils. Brown lentils are a great alternative protein source, though our favorite lentil recipe is this incredible Carrot Cake. Palouse Brand brown lentils are triple cleaned to ensure the highest quality for our customers.

Date seeded: 05-10-2023
Date harvested: 09-01-2023
Rainfall: 16.5 inches

Thrilled to announce the arrival of our 2023 Brown Lentil harvest for you to enjoy. This year, we experienced a moderate amount of rainfall. The lentil crop struggled early on, not getting enough rain when the plants needed it most, however late Summer rains came through for the lentils giving good quality on what plants survived through Spring.

Grown with you in mind

Palouse Brand is a 5th generation, family-owned and vertically integrated farm that grows, cleans, processes, packages and ships premium legumes and grains directly to consumers. We grow our own products in Eastern Washington and provide information like field location, crop photos and harvest dates. We work hard to include our customers in every aspect of our farm to table process.

Beyond our passion for farming, we value helping people live healthier. We strive to support our customers’ pursuit of health by providing premium nutrient-rich products, transparency, recipes, guides, and five star customer service.

Starts in the field

Chuck has worked at the farm as our resident mechanic since 1981. Born and raised in Pullman, he and his wife have also raised their two sons here and are now getting to enjoy time with their grandchildren. Over the many years, they have loved the family centered environment of the farm, becoming family themselves.

His deep love of farming brought him to work on our farm all those years ago and he has always looked forward to the harvest season, where he can see the year’s hard work come to fruition. He enjoys the variety of projects he does throughout the ear and knowing he is an integral part of keeping the farm running smoothly.

Ruby has been working on the Palouse Brand team since the Spring of 2020. She brings an electric energy to every work day and loves to keep things exciting with all her favorite songs to sing and dance along with. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys getting to spend time with her family especially in the Summer when she can spend time in the pool with her nieces and nephews.

Ruby loves the opportunity to learn and test new ways to help our warehouses run more efficiently. Her favorite aspect of her job is getting to teach new employees how to operate all our equipment, like our forklift and sewing machines. Since joining our team, she has become an essential part of many of our processes and she is excited to continue to build her future with Palouse Brand.
